For over 20 years, Trish has been at Dr. Shields’ side, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the office. She is a Level II Dental Assistant who goes out of her way to make your visit as comfortable as possible. A dedicated professional who loves giving back to the community, she resides in Bowmanville and enjoys spending time at the cottage with her husband, kids, and the family dog.

One of our newest and most compassionate team members is Danielle, who joined this year! She is dedicated to doing everything she can to help our patients undergo a positive dental experience and leave smiling. As the face of our practice, you can always find a smile on Danielle’s face as she greets you to boost your mood and brighten your day. Cultivating meaningful relationships with you has always been her goal. When she’s not welcoming you with a smile, Danielle loves to stay active, craft, and play sports with her son.

Kristen has been putting smiles on our patients’ faces since September 2022. She loves interacting with patients and establishing enduring relationships that make each person in her care feel welcome and appreciated throughout every visit. Born and raised in Ajax, Kristen is a cat mom and would someday like to travel to exotic places and explore the world.

Erin received her advanced diploma in dental hygiene from Algonquin College in 2018 and has been a member of our team since 2020. Known for her exuberant personality and friendly nature, she goes out of her way to connect with her patients and make them feel at home. Born and raised in Ajax, Erin and her partner are the proud pet parents of one dog. She enjoys yoga and looks forward to raising a family in the years ahead.

Cindy graduated from the dental hygiene program at Durham College in 1995 and has been with us since 1996. She enjoys educating patients on the importance of oral health and its direct impact on overall well-being. Nothing makes her happier than seeing her patients thrive with healthy smiles. Cindy is married and has two children and a dog. She enjoys staying active by golfing, scuba diving, cave diving, and hiking. She holds a black belt in karate and would like to travel the world someday.

A graduate of Durham College, Sara is a recent addition to the Discovery Dental family. She especially enjoys helping Dr. Shields treat smiles with Invisalign and teaching patients about the importance of oral hygiene so they can enjoy a lifetime of healthy smiles. Born and raised in Damascus, Syria, Sara has lived in Ajax since March 2017. She will marry in the months ahead and looks forward to starting a family.
